Senate Concurrent Resolution 636

A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION COMMENDING R. RODNEY FOIL FOR HIS DISTINGUISHED SERVICE TO THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI AND CONGRATULATING HIM UPON THE OCCASION OF HIS RETIREMENT.

WHEREAS, R. Rodney Foil, Vice-President for Agriculture, Forestry and Veterinary Medicine at Mississippi State University is retiring on June 30, 1999; and

WHEREAS, R. Rodney Foil has served Mississippi State University for 30 years; and

WHEREAS, R. Rodney Foil has also served as Head of the Department of Forestry, Dean of the School of Forest Resources and Director of the Mississippi Agricultural and Forestry Experiment Station (MAFES); and

WHEREAS, R. Rodney Foil holds bachelor and master degrees from LSU and a Doctor of Forestry degree from Duke University; and

WHEREAS, R. Rodney Foil has garnered a lengthy list of academic and professional honors; and

WHEREAS, in recognition of his talent, his peers have selected R. Rodney Foil to serve in numerous leadership positions in national and international research organizations; and

WHEREAS, it is the policy of the Legislature to commend the meritorious achievements of its citizens:

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES CONCURRING THEREIN, That we do hereby commend R. Rodney Foil for his distinguished service to the State of Mississippi and congratulate him upon the occasion of his retirement and wish him continued success in his endeavors.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That a copy of this resolution be presented to R. Rodney Foil.
